Art Development
The guide traces his fingers over the ancient script carved into the stone, “this place is Jinsha, under the protection of the empire of the three-star people. Be warned of the Curse of the Peacock’s Eye.” The guide’s face now beams with excitement, but you feel a foreboding sense of danger; you can’t shake the feeling that you have been here before and now you are wishing that you had spent a few more days in the university library preparing for this expedition in search of the fabled City of Golden Sands.
The rocky path winds up towards a space between two ridges. The guide quickens the pace now. As you cross over a small mountain ridge, you can see a ravine wedged between mountain faces. You have an elevated view and are looking down upon a marvelous site: a field of black flowers on mounds of yellow pollen. The field is the size of a cricket pitch; the black-blue, iridescent blooms remind you of a peacock’s plumage.
We also have several new portraits for the pre-mades, including portraits for several of Sassoon’s Allies characters (below is a sample):
Overall Development
The pre-mades sections have grown to 40 pages (5 pre-mades per main-scenario, each two pages); we are finishing up this section and developing layout formats. New settings sections were added, including a 2 page historical timeline of Shanghai (from 2000BCE to 1937ACE), neighborhood descriptions, and a list of historical and fictional characters. First complete draft of “The Brother of Jesus” is now finished.
In the coming two weeks we hope to wrap-up settings. We also need build-out some extra Mythos settings hooks, and get everything ready for final proof-reading. Our artist Breno is currently working on the last full-page piece for the main book; “May 30th”. He will begin on a few pieces for The Brother of Jesus add-on scenario afterwards. Our portrait artist is creating 8 more portraits for pre-gens now.
